Here's one that was sent to me many years ago. Typical slightly out of focus pic that you have to stare at to decide what it really looks like. :wah

Obviously a complete fade, and some kind of action going on with the maple. :hmm

Julio has more shots. :dude:

Not really birdseye, but a wavy pattern of figure. I like those type with a little color though. I can't believe it there is absulutely no burst at all left. I do like the said burst. Thanks TW.

Thanks Tom for yet another Burst pic. I noticed in the Burst Serial Log there is a pic of this gutiar next to a pic of an old Marshall add. Does any know where a picture of this add can be found? I've wanted a copy for years!

I remember that pic well. It was a "centerfold" fold out that was in November '87 Guitar World magazine with Mark Knopfler on the cover. On the backside of the fold out was an article with conjecture about Clapton's Bluesbreaker, along with info supplied by Mike Doyle about those models.

My best childhood friend purchased that one in the mid-late 70's. Bought it for$375 from Ricche's Music Store in Altoona, Pa. My friend moved to Harrisburg, later trade it for a '61 strat. I know someone else on the forum owned it , too, I think it resides in Japan now.

Awesome!!
Flame is cool but,I just dig the plaintops more for some reason.:dude:

I wouldn't say I like them more (or less) but I agree with you that they are incredibly beautiful, and this one is no exception. Even the plainest burst is a work of art imo.

When they get that faded and unburst-y from a medium distance they look like Goldtops.
