• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let me introduce you to "Virginia". Found this jewel in a small coal mining town. Paid up for this one for the time period that I bought it. Two years after I bought it I got back in contact with the previous owners......they had spent all the money and were broke!

Bumping this great thread for the OP.... My forum friend Mike Bowen. Mike loves bursts and has had some of the most iconic examples in his hands at one time or another.

Anyway, I heard that he's in the hospital and facing a long recovery. Mike, all the best! You're in our thoughts and prayers bro :jim

I just saw a post from Mike on Facebook. He is having a rough time in the hospital! Please keep him in your thoughts, He is now doing OK, but recovery will be long.

Stunning guitars - here's my fav, 9-1981 - that's the year I graduated from high school, I'd been reading the Gruhn newsletter for a while and trying to convince my parents to loan me $8K+/- to buy a guitar.
My brother (2yrs older) was trying to convince them to loan him $25K to buy a Ferrari Dino.
They didn't see our vision.
When I win the lotto, I'm going to offer a STUPID amount of $$$ for this one.
sorry for the small pic....

I had it about 10 years and sold it maybe 20 years ago.
It didn't fade while I had it, and I doubt it has faded much since.
The photos above are not a good gauge of any color change. The newer [nicer] photo is probably very accurate.
Always keep in mind, the lighting of the photo. :ganz

P.S. Best top I ever owned. :salude
