• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Came back to the start again tonight - BF Bassman head

As most of you know, I'm your resident Bassman adict. It's been my favorite amp of all time for quite some time now, and still is. I've got my share of other amps to include vintage Marshalls and plenty of boutique stuff.

I broke out my very first Bassman I ever bought - a 66 that I bought straight from Mark Baier of Victoria amps right at his factory. He set it up and tweaked it just right. It just rocks.

I've got her cranking tonight - just getting some amazing tones (at least to my ears). Cranked into a mid-70s Marshall 1982A 4x12 w/original G12H30s (55hz bass response). Think a good hard crunch a la AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Clash, and of course Social Distortion. I've actually been rocking a Tele all night but - you know the deal.

This is one of those amps that just fits like and old T-shirt or pair of jeans. You know what I mean. Just wanted to share. Old pic:

Looks killer. A couple questions: What is the difference (electronically) between the top amp & the bottom amp? And have you ever converted one into a combo?
