Chibson Flying V Upgrade of Parts Questions

I have the aforementioned Chibson Flying V. I have stripped it and am replacing all the parts with better stuff. My question is about tailpiece and bridge bushings. They used tailpiece bushings for both the tailpiece and bridge (with the little hat up on top of the bushing) and they are not steel according to my parts magnet. Should the replacements I buy be steel? Does this affect signal transmission? Also, will replacements I buy just be generic pot metal like the ones I have now? Or are replacements, like say from Guitar Fetish, better quality metal/steel?

In my experience even GFS uses much better pot metal and various other metals than Chibson. There's different grades of pot metal and I've never had any of them affect signal transmission. Mostly effects playability and longevity. If it plays good, stays in tune, then it's fine.
