• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Congrats, nice score. Where did you purchase it, if you don't mind me asking? And how does it compare to your other Les Pauls?

I got it from session music here in Germany...You can hear it on the video. I´ve posted the link...

It is very hard, to describe sounds, cause these guitars are all in a very special liga...
My goldie for example has a wide extended tone range, with a lot of power and vibe...
Sandy sounds more delicate, centrical, with a little bit more slim bass sounds. But the sound ist more three dimensional...you can modulate the tone.
Both guitars are beautiful instruments...
you see the different tops of these guitars, wide ribbon flames ( Goldie ) and intense medium flames ( Sandy ) , you can compare this to the different sound....that means both sounds, in the the way they looked...
( I hope you understand what I mean ):2cool:2cool:2cool

HNSD to you. I've been to session Frankfurt today looking what they have. They had a VOS Sandy sitting there, asking a hell of a money for it. But it's nice though.

My aged Sandy is here since 10 days and your sound description is almost the same i feel when plying her. I A, B, Cd her with my beloved Rossington and the beloved Felder aged and as usual, the guitar I play the very moment is the best. But Sandy stands out a bit. Clearer, less muddy basses, hard to describe.

I haven't taken good pictures yet (I suck in photography anyway) but those are the best up to now: (I hope you don't bother that I post about my Sandy here. If so, I'll remove it)

Yes, the bridge on my Sandy is that same dull nickel color as yours. If you change the intonation, you'll see the "clean" side of the screw come up from underneath.

yes, looks like it's covered by a layer of something. Maybe I'll take that off if possible and age the bridge myself using vinegar fumes which works perfectly on nickel plated parts

First of all, I like to see Sandy pictures in this thread !!!
May I ask you, from which location you get your Sandy.
I played both Sandys yesterday ( the VOS ), but the aged one sounds a lot more better, than the VOS...:2zone
