I don't know what brought me to the video, but check out the cool green oxidation on the Goldtop. Any thoughts on what year it might be? I thought I read somewhere that the 50s goldtops were less likely to oxidize, so I started the thread here. Oh the rock that must be begging to be released from inside that goldtop.

Wide binding in cutaway would suggest your late 60s instinct was correct.

The small headstock, the outline of the pickguard, and what look to be reflector knobs and chrome hardware also point to late 60s ...prior to Gibson implementing the wide headstock.

1968-early 1969.

You know you guys love the song. Play it. Play it!

I'm picturing the final assembly line at Gibson...and there is someone telling each guitar where he is destined to go.
Ok, nice burst, you're going to Joe Walsh.
Sweet.
Next. Let's see, Junior, you're going to a kid in Chicago.
Yayyyyy.
Alright, cherry burst, you're going to Ace Frehley. Make sure you life insurance papers are up to date.
Gulp.
And gold top, let me see... flipping his paperwork ahhh, you're going to a flute-playing pop band in the Netherlands where you'll play Una Paloma Blanca for the next 30 years
Nooooooooooo! (in a Mr. Bill voice)

Yeah. Looks like a 68 early 69 goldtop. Saw a glimpse of the wide binding. Hard to believe the gold paint was already heavily greening within that short period of time. Assuming this is pre ABBA ?
