Creamtone back to same tricks

I know it’s been discussed on the forums numerous times, but Creamtone is back to its same tricks on Reverb. I looked at the reviews on Reverb and Creamtone (Lonnie) had all 5-star reviews. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and ordered some pickup rings. I got a notice that a shipping label had been created that day. However, they never shipped. I checked in after a week and Lonnie said he forgot and order would ship out that day. After another week, I checked in again. I requested a refund but he told me that they were dropped off the prior week and to check my tracking. USPS clearly showed they were waiting for him to drop the order off. I checked in a week later and silence. A few days later I reported Creamtone to Reverb and asked for my refund. They told me they would contact Lonnie and give home
3 business days to respond. Nothing. After 3 days I contacted Reverb again. I was told to give him another 24 hours and the refund would be done manually if he did not respond. Again, nothing. I contacted Reverb the following day about the refund and got no reply. Same thing the next day. I finally got a response the third day after the refund was promised by Reverb staff. I was apologized to and told the refund would be manually processed. It wasn’t. Had to follow up the next day and it finally was. So after a month and multiple emails I got my refund. I know others have been out hundreds of dollars from Creamtone. I was lucky in that it only took a month to get $100 back. But don’t make the same mistake I made. I shouldn’t have thought Creamtone being on Reverb would be any better.

Also, fyi, because my purchase was refunded I couldn’t leave a review of Creamtone on Reverb. Maybe that’s why all his reviews were positive.

I don't know if Mark still has them, but it used to be the case that the rings MGL sold were the same, if those are the ones you like. I know he has no more association with Lonnie / CreamTone these days, but maybe still has old inventory available? https://www.marksguitarloft.com/acc...intage-cream-m69-cab-butyrate-pickup-ring-set

Tom Bartlett also has very nice cream rings, which look much more authentic in the little details than the CreamTone ones did: https://bartlettguitarparts.com/products/pickup-rings

Plenty of others with nice rings these days, too. Gone are the days of vintage / OTP or nothing.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I’ve bought several items from Creamtone in the past without issue. No longer. I ended up getting rings from Wizz. I also contemplated getting them from Mojoaxe since I’ve bought several things from there and have got great service.

I am surprised that CreamTone is still on Reverb. You would think that Reverb would remove him based on all the issues they have had?

Sorry about the trouble you had and glad you were able to find some from somewhere else.

Leave reviews on FB , Google, the "Better Business Bureau" websites and if you're a member, the other Les Paul Forum.

I'm pretty sure Lonnie was just reselling a bunch of Montreux parts. The CAB rings and poker chips, in particular, have identical errors in them.

Have a look at their catalog and see if you agree (you can't buy direct from here, but they do list dealers in various countries):
