• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Chris is without a doubt a tremendous player- to me that would sound within 5% of any quality guitar he put in his first tune. Still this is one of the most definitive clips of vintage burst tone- and it is a reissue. Go figure.

You could save 200K and just get that old Bluesbreaker Marshall. Sounds great.

Isn't that the "Alex Conti Burst"? In that case it is refinished at least twice if I'm not mistaken. One refinish done by a local luthier I know, the other done in the US. If that is really the same guitar, it was already sold by the same dealer some years ago and was also subject of a heated discussion here on the LPF.

You're referring to a different Alex Conti burst. Refinished 4 times...if my counting was accurate. (in the 70s; in Germany before being sold; by the next owner in switzerland; then by EE via HM).

Hey, all, have we discussed Uncle Lou's Issues-Burst yet, or did I miss it?

I didn't see a discussion on it, but did see it for sale. He mentioned "baggage", but I don't know what those issues are.

Grovers, Bigsby, Headstock repair.
Jeez, that barely qualifies as "issues"... hence the word "baggage" ;)
[Disclamer: Irony ]
But that top.. is out of this world I think... Go find another (for sale)...

I’m sure he’d let you know personally
Lou G is super professional and I have nothing but the best to say about him and our previous transactions, but I doubt he would send me a personal invitation to check out this 'Burst. ;-) (P.S. : I wish he would!)
