• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Current bursts for sale...

I believe the iconography of these wonderful guitars will easily survive the tsunami of bullshit that seems to stick to 'em like shit to a blanket.

I think the LPF has in no small part at least tried to shine some light into the dark corners that the wrong 'uns rely on.

That has took it out of some individuals, testament not to weakness, but rather effort and integrity expended.

I never had a Burst but several very nice vintage Gibsons and Fenders.
I left the vintage market a couple of years ago because I got cold feet. I got the feeling it was getting poisoned and I got out without losing money.

As prices go up and time rolls by, more choice items appear for sale. This happens in all areas of collectibles.

Last month I attended a couple of auctions at Pebble Beach in Monterey during car week.

Talk about money, that scene puts things like guitars in a whole ‘nother light!

My part of my business 89 - 2009 involved high end air cooled collectable vintage German cars the the atmosphere is so different than vintage guitar atmosphere. Your facility for your car collection is several Burst's.

There's one on 'a certain well known auction site', located in Japan...
Had to chuckle at the postage charge - £40ish.
If I'm spending ~£300k+, I'm not buying without an expert and myself touching it first AND I'm certainly not entrusting it to DHL!
I'll never be in that circle of buyer, but I have a sort of philosophy... You only need five grand in the bank to spend five grand on a guitar. You'd (by which I mean me) need ten million in the bank (minimum) to consider spending three hundred grand on one... so, a few grand more to go and see it wouldn't bother me.

Lou has got him a nice little 401K there and the market is strong. Wishing him the best in his retirement!

Just Lou being Lou. I don't have a problem with it.

I did a relatively small deal with him many years ago now. Smooth as silk. He was a professional in every respect.

I doubt if the deep pocket brigade will mind that much either, after all those referred to can find that sort of scatter down the back of their sofas.

Relativity and all that jazz.
