• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

He'll need it.

Setting the terms of the sale that way just reeks of "you know where you can shove your collection".
I detest that sort of douchebag attitude. "Don't even ask"- nice.

I mean it's apparent that any party that would be interested in purchasing the set can calculate a fair offer without needing an indication from the selling party.

The issue I would take is that of two prospective buyers, the one who intends not to use them as instruments but instead as artworks or assets would be the preferred bidder?

Surely their raison d'etre and desirability comes from the fact they are instruments intended to be played?
Without the sound they produce none of their value would exist, so they should be used as intended.

I would also note that if that is the seller's true intention then he should have concealed it, any prospective buyer is now going to go along with the concept that the lot will be only be shown/preserved even if they do intend to play them.
Once they're purchased the buyer will do whatever they please...

Just Lou being Lou. I don't have a problem with it.

I did a relatively small deal with him many years ago now. Smooth as silk. He was a professional in every respect.
I had similar positive experience with Lou, twice, on small deals. He went out of his way to be helpful.

I thought it might be fun, and informational, to start a thread that could be potentially long lasting. Why don't we try to congregate all of the current bursts for sale into this one thread.

Yesterday I posted that 9 0647 is currently for sale at Storybook guitars.

What else is currently on the market? Asking prices would also be helpful if available. This kind of thread could help a potential buyer judge the current market conditions.:jim
Great Idea, how about consideration of a similar list of Goldtops with PAF's on the market. Would be helpful for us "Goldtop Believers" for the same reasons.

Wouldn't the seller of such a prime collection get a lot more money by selling the guitars individually? Lots more work, of course. I hope Uncle Lou is well.

I think the usp of the sale is precisely that they're going as a collection.

Going to save someone an awful lot of time.

Judging by the Bezos or Gates pocket depth requirement, I don't think we're looking at a substantial bulk purchase discount here...

This one popped up at ish guitars

I think they’re asking 275k which is less than what most dealers are posting them for. Does anyone have any info on this one?

I have photos from when RS had it for sale several years ago. Only thing "of note" was that maybe it had a retouched solder joint on one of the vol pots.
