• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What's the body make up, one piece or pancake?
Take a pic of the body inside the control cavity.

I bought a NEW CUSTOM in 71..in NYC...year class was not a big deal back then, as memory serves me...it was a 69. it was stolen 1979..in NC...the perpetrator
scratched out the serial #...The guitar was recovered by police from a pawn shop...I got the guitar back...but while in SEATTLE circa 1984, i traded it for nothing a cheap strat....after it was stolen and abused...it was never the same to me...it was a fretless wonder and it was heavy...it was beautiful though... it dripped with class....knowing what to buy is more than half the battle.

the guitar has a square hole for the wiring. They need a round hole drilled all the way from jack to switch hole for one piece I believe.

From '68 onwards, LP Customs have a maple top, hence the square channel.
It's the mahogany part of the body which can be 1 or 2 piece on LP Customs from 69. Somewhere Late '69 onwards = 2 pcs. mahogany (pancake body).
