• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Damn....Why can't I play like........

I just can't get my fingers to move that fast.

I also have no rhythm... you'd think it's all simple concepts, but I can't get my head wrapped around the simplest rhythmic concepts.

I have trouble playing anything other than quarter notes to a metronome.

I don't want to play JUST LIKE anyone. I just want to have the chops and tone to please myself first and I'm not anywhere near that yet. Ain't no arenas in this man's future my friends. If I can rock just one person other than me I will be happy. I want to write songs that have that certain something. Y'all know it when you hear it. It isn't the genre, the gear, how fast you get downtown on the six string, or how many people hear you. It's the song! If it helps me get "one foot in the ether" I'm spellbound. Peace.

My current goal is to get to point where I can play out somewhere. I've been playing to 20 + Years and have never really knuckled down and put it all together. Still play at my house and have the Led Zeppelin, SRV, Kiss, Areosmith, U2 Medley Down. Can't play a complete song by any of them.

Peter Green in '69/'70. I will never be that good. I'm not sure anybody else will either.

I don't want to play like Jim Hall, but I wish I knew what he knows about music.

A Big reason that we cannot play like this is practice (10000hours)

if you don't practice you don't deserve to dream....and if wishes were horses beggars would ride...maybe you can't play like them because you haven't worked like them, haven't practiced like them, haven't sacrificed like them and haven't committed like they have...
