Hey guys,

I’m hoping someone can help me get the best out of a 60’s Dearmond 210 I’ve put I’m my acoustic. It’s the one without the visible pole piece on the B string.

I’m struggling with super low output and a kind of thin scratchy tone. I’ve managed to bring the height up a good bit with some spacers and I have switched to Monel strings which has helped a bit but It’s still not where I wanted it to be.

My goal, unsurprisingly, is to get somewhere in the ball park of the great Lightnin Hopkins (and yes I known 90% of that was in his hands…)

Any advice appreciated

Andrew

hey, thanks for the reply. No actually but I will in the morning (it’s nighttime where I am). Do you know what they typically read at?

I'd guess 8-10k ohm.
Any problem with the windings will give readings way far from that...like in the 100s...or 0.
