• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

In fact I'm surprised that no-one's linked to this yet. The best photos I've seen of this iconic guitar. Shot for Collectible Guitar Magazine

I'm really excited by these detailed pics. Can't stop studying them. I even had a "Hotlanta" built with no serial number, etc... Just never had the Duane in fret wire installed in the back due to the fact I didn't know how to lay it out, until now.:salude

I can feel the aura! Glorious color in those photos, too. I used to think it was just a dark burst, but I love the bourbon/tea in it.

Actually, it's perfect.

My favorite guitar on earth. PERIOD. I banged my head on the glass at the Rock Hall in Cleveland several times by accident, just trying to get closer and look at the details. :)

I swear it looks more faded than it was at the Hall (must have been ten years ago now). They had it in a dark area, but it had a bit of a spotlight on it kind of.

The burst spraying looks a little ho hum in these pics, but there was a lot going on seeing it in person.

I subcribe to it. I am disappointed in the article as they just seem to pass on the wrong info like others before. duane Never called it "Hot `Lanta" That came from someone else. It was his shortest played LP (June 26th, 1971 till Oct. 29th 1971) it's certainly a beautiful guitar. The finish was Never Tobacco but was a dark burgundy around the edges. Wasn't a brown-ish band. The frets were inlaid by Twiggs on the back after he had it refretted in the early `70's. Twiggs traded his beloved `38 Ford Couple to Gregg for it with the understanding that it would go to Galadrielle when she turned 21.
The Cherryburst has been at the Skirball Center here in L.A. as part of a Bill Graham Exhibit that the center put on. I wish someone would read my friend Alan Paul's book about The Brothers before carrying on with the mis-information on Duane's guitars.. Also Randy Poe's great book should be required reading for all those who are going to write about Duane's guitars.

Hello everyone!...thanks for the kind words about my photos of this iconic LP. I thought I had shared them here in Hi-Res, but it appears not. What’s the best way? Suggestions? New post maybe?
