Early/Mid 70's Les Paul Signature Case Questions

Hello Everyone,

I have recently acquired an early to mid 70's Les Paul Signature, and it did not include the original case, but a similar era gibson acoustic case. The acoustic case is an okay fit for storage and safe keeping, but I'd like a more snug fit for transportation and travel.
This leads me to wonder what cases these originally came in. Is it the same as an ES-335(345/355, etc.) or were the cases unique to this specific model?
Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

That’s the low impedance model, no? Mr. Grog knows this I would bet.. but I suspect it may be specific to the guitar, if I recall the Signature had a unique shape.

I always wanted one of those!

Be careful of fitment.

Many are out there which will hold it, but 3XX type guitars vary all over the map.

Case (haha) in point.

The factory case fit like a glove on all these but I got an SKB bulletproof case for a 335 for travel.

Fits most with additional padding, but:

Does not quite fit my 58 replica.

Almost fits my Bursted 59 335

Not great, but fair fit on a 64 replica 345

Beautiful 335's and 345!
I appreciate your response and your advice, and I guess I'll just have to bring the LP Sig to a shop that has a few different options.
Apologies for the late reply, and thanks for taking the time to help out!

Yep, low impedance model, with one es-3xx cutaway, and one lp cutaway. Weird and cool at the same!

FYI, Gibson Flawless Cases of the period were notoriously poorly constructed. Every Les Paul case I encountered flexed, the actual rim of the case flexed as I went up or down stairs with it. My early '70s LP now lives in a Univox case because the Univox case is stronger. I've got the Flawless, but it sits in a closet. Ironic, eh?

You might do best getting a custom case made.
