• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I cannot hear any difference between the Pafs and the Seymour Duncan. Sounds killer!
I'm sure they are somewhat different but I agree they're very close. When we compared it with Joe's 60 it sounded almost identical, the neck shape was also almost identical.

This video (audio only) shows everything the guitar is capable of in the hands of a young Eelco Gelling, when it was just a decade old. The very best recording of Eelco's unique playing I've found to this day!

Thanks for sharing. I've heard quite a bit of Cuby but not in this sound quality. I bet there is still lots of great stuff out there!

Isn't that just about the best Les Paul tone? And Eelco is just playing his heart out. I wonder what his influences are?

I've asked him about his influences. Not a lot of guitar hero's when he was growing up, John Lee Hooker, Muddy and Bo Diddley were early influences, like they were for so many others but his main influence comes from brass, he loves Charlie Parker!
