• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

That is nearly the equivalent of the Gibson-Baldwin guitars - terribly cheap to the point of nearly unplayable.

Fair enough. I might wheel on over to Best Buy today and check one out for myself. If I do, I'll report back after beer-thirty this afternoon.

It's pretty simple....

This is a Chevrolet Nova built in America

This is a Chevrolet Nova...built in Japan

The folks that used to build them in America still build cars, if they're lucky....except now they work for Toyota, Honda....etc...

The same thing that's happened in the automotive industry is happening in all manufacturing environments.

To all:

Please accept my apologizes for sounding so passionate and negative for the several topics that I covered in this thread. I should back off of my opinions and be more neutral in this and all future discussions.

I will correct my statement that the Gibson-Baldwin guitars are so cheap that they are nearly unplayable. This is a misinterpretation of the facts. The true fact is that these guitars are playable. A young kid will be able to springboard off of this low cost guitar and perhaps learn to be exceptional players in the process.

I am reflecting on my thoughts of this thread and realized that I am just 'stirring the pot' so to speak. I am doing a self-check on my attitude this morning, and I don't like what I see.

Carry on.
