• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

this is not my guitar but from a buddy who asked me to sell it for him- my passion are the ES-335/345/ and Super-400 and i don't know enough about the 175 series.... the serial number A-26181 suggests a 57 or 58 model, the switch without the grommet also but since the pickups (untouched solderjoints) have no sticker i'm at a loss.... they should be PAF's , right ? how can i verify this and what is the current blue book value of this guitar ? it has changed tuners and a hole in the otherwise orig. pickguard, orig. tailpiece+ case, no repairs or other alterations. any info on this would be of great help, thanks ! btw the guitar is in germany, bought from an american soldier in maybe 1961/62 ....

Early PAFs don't have stickers.

Right on the first PAF"S in early 57 were unlabled i had a 175--early 57 that had the same pickups as yours--EARLY UNLABLED PAF'S THE 175 WAS ONE OF THE FIRST GUITARS TO GET THE NEW HUMBUCKING PICKUP.Your friends guitar looks right on the pickups are original to the guitar in my opinion based on the photo's.Mike B.

I've seen a few late 50s Blonde ES-175s sell in the $8500 range this year.
