Is there a good, newsy, useful internet portal/home page option for friggin' adults out there any more? :hmm

I understand they need to make a living and all, but I'm so sick of being bombarded by "news" of talentless starlets, two-headed snakes, somebody's cute kids, chat worlds, inane videos, mortgage offers, phone offers and more on the usual major portals that I'm looking for a nice, passive, generic sort of spot to point my browser.

I have the google main page as my home page when I go to Safari. No cutesy BS crap like on Comcast.com. I can't count how many times I go there (where my email is) and get bombarded by the same stuff you are talking about. They are forever showing some bimbo (granted, some are pretty hot, but I have no use for vocalists in general) and saying things like "5 songs you HAVE to hear." Um, no thanks, if the bitch can't play guitar (or bass or drums), I have no use for them whatsoever. I also do not give a rat's ass about hollywood celebrities, or reality show stars being hawked as important or significant. Don't even get me started on the news. I don't want to sound insular, but I hate being inundated by bad shit 24/7/365.
