• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A good blues tag (and a confession), perfect for the tortured artist blues. You see it in many blues songs like, "Sinner's Prayer", "Sinner's Blues". Describes me very well--I'm perpetually at some kind of "crossroads".

ok, but what is a "moonpie"? I mean I know about cow pies and stuff, and wasn't there some kind of ice-cream sandwich thing called that once--what I am missing???

'Wiser Time', one of my favorite songs by The Black Crowes. I was listening to it when I joined, so, 'Wisertime' it became.

Some stupid ebay name I came up with a long time ago. When it came time to register for the LPF I though I'd go incognito and used that name.

Dave is my real first name, and back in the 1980's when David Lee Roth played a VJ in that video for Just a Gigolo......at the end of the video, Dave says..........

"You're listening to "All Dave, all night....right here....on Dave TV!"

Well, all my stoner friends started calling me DaveTV, and it stuck.

It is also the 'insider' nickname for DirecTV, in which I was involved with for some time.

Many years ago, friends and I were planning a cowboy style bbq. And a friend of mine suddenly said, "well, you already look like Hoss" (Cartwright from Bonanza).
I added 33 (a reg. number on an old forum), because "hoss" was already taken on the LPF.

The bass player's name was Randy Creel.
In the South, an RC (Royal Crown) cola and a Moonpie is the breakfast of champions. RC and Moonpie goes together, so we named the band RC&theMoonPies. It was a 3 piece and the drummer and I always called each other Moonpie.

I thought "hugeinthepantslegendaryinthesack" would have been taken. So "doodman" it is.

Are you any kin to Bill Daughtry, on King of the Hill?
He's from Texas also.

After returning to guitar from an 18-year hiatus, I was, at the time, teaching undergraduate college. When I finally got up the confidence to go to my "first" hosted blues jam, they guy who was running it asked me what I did for a living. I had told him about my teaching, and when he introduced me, he introduced me as the Professor. The name stuck, and now there are quite a few area musicians (and listeners) who know me only as the Professor.
