Fading the binding on my R4 Custom...suggestions needed

My R4 Custom looks too new, I prefer the faded look of my R7 which apparently had a lot of stage use.
Other than leaving it out in the direct sunlight, any suggestions?

If I had a side by side it would be much more apparent.

Not fading of binding, rather a yellowing, or "ambering" of the clear coat.

I've seen guys do it with shoe polish.

Looks like shit.

Play some smokey bars for a couple years. :hee
