Dunno how Jeff Beck wasn't mentioned.....I forgot him too.

he was (briefly) on post # 11.

Looky....I'm 53 yrs old, and if you don't think Slash's Appetite tone is among the best (I don't care if it's a burst, a Norlin, or a repro), you don't like thick, OD LP tone.....)

And I'm not talking about technique....wasn't this about tone?

Also, this tone seeped over into "Use Your Illusion II" seriously...maybe my favorite Slash moment on "You Could Be Mine". About as good as it gets, IMO....tonewise.

AFAIK Slash plays a BC Rich on YCBM, even on live footage (tour in Japan...)

Live version of Take the Highway and Ramblin from Marshall Tucker Band's Where We All Belong. It may well be a 335 but I'm pretty sure it's a LP.

i love and admire the tone from the wizard of waukesha - if you don't mind to call him that way.

his recordings and tone were outstanding. not to mention that even today after centuries of guitar evolution only a few players are able to copy his techniques. remember ... alabamy bound or world is waiting for a sunrise? ... earcandy

as the reverend already said: without him we would still play acoustics and listen to music in mono.
