i got a line on a 65 blackface concert. what is a decent price to pay for one of these, and how rare are they really

also the speakers have been replaced with weber speakers

Not sure about the price but I'd go for a Super Reverb OR a brown Concert instead.
If you want to buy the BF Concert you are definitely in a strong bargaining position because not too many folks want those. I think $700 -800 (half of what a player grade Super Reverb would cost) would be a decent price.
Good luck

Hi yeti!

Wow, at these prices I´d be all over it - but doesn´t that seem a bit TOO cheap?

But, of course, you´re right in that a Super Reverb would be a more desireable amp...
Same size, roughly the same weight - but a livelier sound.

But still, I don´t think a concert is only worth HALF the price...

cheers - 68.

Hi Matt!

I would consider this a "steal" - especially if you look at what $650 will get you in terms of a new amp.

The only downside I can see is that a bf Concert is a big, loud and (rather) heavy amp ;-)

cheers - 68.

idk much about the concert, but i have bought a 70's twin reverb and a '69 bassman. Both were not in the shape that they were said to be in. if you know your amp stuff then you should be good. but imo be ready to spend a few hundred dollars on new parts and pieces.

I owned a near mint '64 Concert that I liked quite a bit. Had the Oxford ceramic magnet speakers in it. I seem to recall I paid about $1K for mine. So I'd say go for it!

after some time getting used to it i fell in love with the Concert i think its a wonderful amp. I am not a huge reverb guy to begin with so the lack of it doesn't bother me in the least. thats a little clip from a while ago of me showing off like we all do in our basements from time to time. Thanks guys
