• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Cool!

Absolutely nothing wrong with rosewood for sure, but for me, on a Strat, I prefer maple; different tone and feel. I like the look better too.

To each their own. |Personally, I like the slightly deeper tone of the rosewood, and I like the feel of the raw wood, rather than the finish on maple. That said, my |Tele is a maple board, and I have a Schecter Custom Shop HSS Strat (ish...) that's maple board too. I wouldn't say no to another Strat, real FEnder, in maple... how many rosewood would I need?

I completely understand and I like the deeper tone too. Not that there's a tone comparison, but two of my LPs have rosewood and four of my other guitars (2 LP Customs, an L-5 and a Martin D-35) have ebony boards (my favorite), so it's nice to have one with a maple neck to change-it-up a bit.

Notice the P90s in the neck position and the telecaster bridge pickups in the bridge in my builds.
