• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

This is the third blackface amp Fender has made a digital reproduction of and the one I am most excited to try.

I have yet to go out and test out a TM amp. When I was younger I would go to my local shop twice a month to see what was new. I just don't need that much anymore, I guess. But, I had a lot of experience with Super Reverbs back in the 70s and 80s so this one has me thinking about visiting a music store sometime soon. Just loved how the originals shimmered and roared. Plug in and play. No other Fender amp sounded like them. For me, they were the best, especially the blackface circuit models. At 35 lbs the TMs are half the weight. Might be tempted to buy a new amp for the first time in several years.

BFSR's are some of finest tone machines around. Other than the weight, there is not a lot a guy can bitch about. But then again, the weight may be what is keeping the vintage prices down. They may be one of the better vintage buys out there right now. MHO What is the price point for the digital ones?

Judging by the DR and TR models tht are already out, it should be a killer amp.
I got to play them a ways back, and unless you're playing right next to a great vintage example, you'd never tell the difference.
The sag and overdrive reacted just like the tube versions, it cleaned up nicely with the guitar's volume knob etc.
PLus having the build-in attenuator is a great touch. Obviously play one before buying (or make sure you have a good return policy) and if possible compare
to a "real" SR...
Personally I'm wondering if they'll look into doing tweed amps in this series - bassman, tweed deluxe, low-power twin, etc.

I'm seeing them going around $1200.

Will have to try one out when one or two hit Auckland. Got a '65 vintage and it's a monster in tone and weight so will do an A/B.
Thanks for the heads up herb.

If Fender really dig deep it's the brown tolex early '60s Deluxes that you guys in the States all talk about as being the top of the tree tonewise......maybe they may make 'em.............we'll see.
