THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
I got an email last month from a moderator on The Gear Page forum telling me I’d won a forum membership contest guitar and asking for my shipping address. It was the Fender Vintera II 50’s NoCaster. I wasn’t expecting much in a guitar retailing for under $1200.
I must say it’s actually very good! I love the neck, .95 1st to 1.0 U shape feels great! I’ve never had either a 7.25 radius or the narrower 1.650 nut but they were easy to adapt to. Fender sells a neck that has the same big U carve but with a 9.5 radius and 1.6875 nut width one could get if the vintage specs don’t jive.
It sounds like a Tele should and honestly I’m having a blast with it.
Iconic guitar. Congrats. My 2005 AVRI Tele had a 7.25" rad neck and it never bothered me until I wore the neck out and instead of re-fretting I got a new 9.5" rad neck. I'm now a 9.5" convert. I also shaved that big fat U down to a comfortable C. Yours probably has the same exact pickups and electrics as mine.
I've got a 50's Vintera Tele. For the money it's a very good guitar. The pickups are great and the build is high quality. It is my only guitar with a poly coat rather than nitro, though, and it's the first thing I notice when I pick it up.
