That's a mahogany neck? Looks like maple--don't think I've ever seen mahogany that light in color with or without finish (unless it's korina which is similar but not the same).

I have a Jackson with a raw mahogany neck that looks about the same color.

I wish Gibson went with the brown back and necks more often. Vintage Cherry is way too common.
