• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Gibson couldn't give them away, but now you can have one for only $21,999 (plus shipping and handling)

I believe the price is based on $99 for the guitar and $21,900 for the scribbling:

I bought one from Guitar Center with everything for just under $2000 about a year and a half ago. They had a few of them. I think they'll always have some value but you may have to really wait for the right person to get your money.

Prototype #1, that’s why it’s so expensive. It’s for collectors, not players.

A friend of mine bought one when they first came out. I didn’t think much of it….

I got the chance to demo one for about a week when they came out and I loved it. I don't know what they did to the pickups but for direct recording it worked really well. I wrote a long review praising it and it got me suspended from a guitar forum.

At the time I would work in several different places and if that's what you're doing (and using mainly sims) it was really, really good. Now, due mainly to Covid and constructing a better space, I work mostly at home where I can have more guitars/amps without moving everything. I don't really use many amp sims so it's less valuable to me but I would love to see Gibson produce something with the impedance or whatever gadget was in the FBX.
