• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

^^^^ This isn't the same guitar as the one above that has the double white bridge and zebra neck, is it? The grain looks different to my eyes.

Scott, it is the same one, take a closer look... maple does strange things with different light, but it is the same guitar.

It is not the same as the one with a double white bridge and a covered neck pup. :)

Frankie Sullivan is a pretty good guitar player. I believe the muted palm riffs on Eye of the Tiger was a Les Paul, but the rest of the melody was a Strat.
The Search Is Over was also a LP.

Cool thread. Did Frankie use any of these guitars on the song "Caught In The Game?" The tone on that tune is killing and a it's great song as well. I recall that one blasting through my T-Top roof in the early 80s :)

Pretty sure that was a Strat too. He actually played a Strat as well on Nothin At All by Heart

Nothing At All certainly sounds like a Strat, as does most of the Vital Signs album. But the Caught In The Game era tone sounds like a humbucker equipped guitar to me. If not, that's one damn fine Strat tone :)
