Hi guys, have you noticed how different the fretwire on the CC2 Goldie is? The frets seem taller/thinner than the regular R9s from the same period to me.
Just wondering what they used back then on this run...:hmm
Anybody? :eek:la

Frets on mine are similar to the Black beauties Fretless Wonders.. Thinner. No mention of actual size (22 Medium jumbo??) on that page and they got the pickups description backwards too. Also there is no retaining wire on the bridge..Wish mine had that dish profile. not as pronounced as the pics of others in the run..

I think you're looking for specifics so here:

Gibson cs uses jescar 45100 (.045" x .100") for most historics
On occasion they do use jescar's version of the dunlop 6105 which is 55090.

Actual numbers and feel may be different due to leveling/plek.

Thanks for the replies guys! I have seen also some aged guitars with really low frets.
Do they do that to mimic the originals?
