• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Christ, the tone he gets on "Sleepy Time Time" is amazing. Very Clapton circa '68 and fat as hell.

Good post. Never seen this clip. Bruce and Moore really listen to each other when improvising and play off what they are hearing.

Great thread, Adam - thanks. I like the way Gary actually plays the riff to "Sunshine" the way Clapton used to.

It appears to be a '61 with the sideways vibrola removed and stop tailed, you can see the screw holes by the strap end...:hmm

I found those video clips on YOUTUBE a couple years ago. Being a big Gary Moore fan, Ive seen pics of him w/ 335,Strat,LP,Explorer, FLying V,...everything BUT an SG..till I saw that video w/ Jack Bruce and Gary Husband. LETS just saw I was BLOWN AWAY! THE TONE he got from that cherry SG was just amazing.......lets say, I purchased an SG the next day! I still go back to watch it ...especially when Jack Bruce died.

I wish i could buy a pair of those pickups :D
0 harsh trebles on there, loads of sustain and huge gibson thick tone.
That sound is what im searching for my modern SG standard, trebles with no harsh on bridge and a little more dirt than a les paul on neck.
