• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hey guys, been a while, just letting everyone know that I'm in the process of getting the Mapleflame mod Patented. I had no idea that it would have jumped off as good as it did after "TM1" used that term. It may have been done before, but the term Mapleflame mod refers to me, so why not Capitalize on it. I do come around and look at threads now and then. Hope everyone is healthy and doing great.

This is great as you deserve full credit for this! I know it’s a lot of paperwork to get something patented. About 20 years ago I had patented/Trademarked the “Rangemaster”. I had started making them in 1997 when NooBody knew what they were.. now ever pedal maker under the sun makes some shitty version of it. I’m Not going to say what they do wrong, but they just don’t sound as good as the ones I’ve made. Trademarks run out in a few years and I just let it go..
But, best of Luck on this! You were the innovator of this and deserve all the credit!👍🏻👍🏻

That’s a good idea, but good luck with the patent process. Long, painful and expensive paperwork…

Not sure I understand the business value of this, but congratulations, I guess.

I've been told that you you must apply for a patent within a year after introducing a product to the public. After that, the invention cannot be patented.

How can you patent, prevent people from buying SS screws, and do this mod?...unless you plan on selling bridge studs for $19.95.

Not sure I understand the utility in this either. As you said, it’s been done before. It’s the “Mapleflame” name that you managed to successfully attach to a previously common mod that is possibly of some value? I agree, you’d be better building on the momentum of fledgling success in branding and do something with the brand. Forget the steel screws, you’ll spend a lot of $$ with zero r.o.i.

Good luck and nice job at marketing! It’s not easy
