• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I don't know if it belongs on this place in the forum, but for those (like me) who never took a factory tour, here's a recent video I just saw on the tube, from Premier Guitar.

If it doesn't belong here, please mods, feel free to move it :)

I spent every Saturday for several years hanging out with Jim DeCola. My dad and Jim worked for the same local music store. I took guitar lessons there. Before and after each lesson was spent watching Jim work on guitars. Everything I know about setting up guitars, was learned during those days. Very cool, thanks for posting.

Really enjoyed watching, and I learned about that "maple spline" in the neck.

Really amazing tour of Gibson guitar-making--I had no idea how much went into each and every aspect of building.

When I pick up my Les Paul guitar from now on, I believe I will have a new level of appreciation and understanding.

I was probably being naive but I never realised how much of the construction is done by machines:wah
