Once they perfect and correct this P.A.F. to be A2,3 & 5? There’s only one last piece of the puzzle. Old growth mahogany. It’s coming. And the price point will be collector price. $75000-$100000 with braz board. It’ll be THE most accurate burst to date and from there? Only one way to go. Down.

Seriously I think your prediction is the scary reality of the Gibson guitar Theme , mind set , Ive been a Gibson Customer since 73 I can't justify the CS price point I got out of the boat 2017 .

I bought a 2015 TH59. I’d “like” to see what pickup change and nostalgic hybrid centralabs do? But I know as far as wood goes? ML ain’t no better. And braz board doesn’t change tone so waste of money

At they're less expensive then the Stevens Design Belden wired aged set

PRS 58/15 LT TCI - could always sneak some of these in your LP for some accurate tone

I sure hope the buyers of the 20K Brazilian got these in there guitars - that would be a slap in the face if not

I remember this guy on the tele site who had a passion to re-make the Fender wide range humbucker from the 70's, a thing of beauty.

Problem was, the screw poles were actual magnets of an alloy dubbed CuNiFe. So, he was a small operation and it was a pain in the ass. Finally, got it done but they cost a good penny because he had to put forward all that dough to get the magnets etc made from scratch....they just didn't exist at the time. Talk about an uphill battle.

IIRC, they were about $300 a piece in the late 00's.

Everyone was saying "I wish Fender would do this because a big company ordering in large quantity will drive the price down."

Then Fender did, and when they came out a decade later the pickup was $200. Literally had to R&D the material on the company wallet. It's the same with other stuff, Fender came out with limited '54 set of polystyrene parts for strats for like $60 for the whole thing when just the pickup covers in that material at the time were $150 from crazyparts. That's how it works.

Yet, the 100th Gibson PAF variant is just the opposite!!?? Let's double the price! A magnet forged by elves from the bowels of Mt. St. Helens!!!

I've supported some of the smaller higher priced pickup makers, especially in their infancy as I'm sure it takes a lot of money to get proprietary parts to the production floor. You'd think once operations get going prices would get driven down because they've already done the R&D on something that's been produced for years but...that's been disappointing too.

Eh....

one seller had a 20% off black Friday sale but had jacked the prices up shortly before the offer ?
Most companies do that on “sales”. It’s never a sale. Companies don’t lose money because of a sale lol

Throwback has to buy a set in order to answer anything so why contact them when they just hit the market?
It’s “ThroBak”. And sorry, what is your question/statement? I seem to be missing the context. Jon’s comments highlight his curiosity which has been to date, for all of our benefit.
