• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I remember a day I had a very special and strange moment.

I was playing with my band and the drummer asked me not to be so shredy in a certain theme. I agreed and we played it again but this time when I started the solo I was very concentrated in what the song was suggesting me so I would be able to put all my sould instead of running across de fingerboard.

I sarted the solo and I felt I was enjoying it a lot. I was completely INSIDE the music and I believe I played the nicest solo I ever did. Suddenly I realized I was playing alone. The rest of the band were looking at me while I was playing eyes-closed and I don't know for how long.

I just opened my eyes, I looked at everybody and we started a new song. Not a single word.

I would love to have recorded that moment because it was very very magic for me.

Did you have any similar experience?

NOTE: No drugs were involved. ;)

YEP...GOTTA LOVE IT....

if i've had a hard day i'll go down after all the kids are asleep and the wifey is busy,.....i've got a number of backing tracks on my studio workstation, and i'll set it up to a continuous loop.

i'll start playing....usually it's very hard to start with, trying to get past the day, but on a few occasions i've gotton to a place where the music just flows. like you said, eyes closed, ears and fingers only. finally i'll run outta places to go or i'll just naturally come to and end.

then i look at the clock and notice it's been 4 or 5 hours since i hit play.

Last night as a matter of fact. I was at my other guitar players house jamming with him. We were both in the pocket. I remember closing my eyes and the next thing I know we stopped and my bandmate was smiling. He said "You were one with the Marshall weren't you".:)

That was the first time I felt that. Too bad it was just us.:lol
