• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Grace under fire....

I've not been on here for quite some time but something just compelled me to come here today and I saw your thread at the top of the page.

There's not a lot to add to what others have said Paul, except Audrey has the strength of hardened steel and I know you will be walking hand in hand through another unwanted journey with this evil aggressor. Needless to say you are both in my thoughts and you can give me a call or drop a text any time you want mate. Keep punching, all my love and best wishes to you both.
Morning Justin, man you're a sight for sore eyes.

Thanks for your continuing class and kindness Mate.

Take good care old Pal.

;)

To quote the finest wordsmith in English to have ever picked up a quill, to be " Bold, Bloody and Resolute....laugh to scorn the power of (insert whatever comes to mind here!!) ..."
I had no idea that Eric Idle wrote that!

It's a tunnel, not a hole.
Please feel supported. Be good to yourself -- we know you'll be good to your wife.

Thanks a lot S a m.

This almost diary like thread is the only place I'm narrating this. I'm decidedly amongst my peers here, to such an extent that I don't have to pretend to feel other than I do.

Testament to the weight you people have put behind Us for some not inconsiderable time.

I'm humbled by the class on display.

I know I am a relative new-comer to this forum (65 years of age) but I am in a very similar situation .. after 10 years my wife' cancer also has returned .. they have found spots in her breasts, two spots on her lungs and heavy bone damage to her pelvis as a result of the cancer migrating and settling there ... she has had the nuclear bone imaging test, the CT scan and a lot of other tests ... today I am finally allowed to accompany her into the Hospital for the first time because we are meeting with the Bone Specialist ... it's a very hard thing to handle, I don't care about myself .. it's her I cry for ... it's like going into battle, you charge ahead, you get bad news, you retreat, shattered and cry and cry in anguish ..then when there is a lull in appointments you become cautiously optimistic .. then repeat the whole thing over ..today I suspect we will learn if there is hope .. I hate talking about it so matter of fact, but I suppose I may be typing this for my own sanity .all said it is reassuring that there is someone out there who understands .

Cancer is a horror movie- except it steals into our loved ones- into our homes. Arnold your line about "cautious optimism" is true- no news is just that. All the parties involved want to help- want everything to return to some semblance of normal- those moments are such a gift.
One day at a time- take all the meds they offer as directed- and most of all be your loved-ones advocate. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
And faith in some Universal Benevolence.

thanks man, today is our first visit with anyone at all since all the tests have been done .. we know nothing but I fear the news will not be encouraging, they said if my wife were to fall it will be a pathological fracture .we leave in a few minutes to meet our fate

Arnold, I am here. I'm Paul.

PM or email anytime. In your own time. (I've pm'd you my email )

Maybe we can help each other stay within at least touching distance of a semblance of sanity through this maelstrom.

Your narrative is as near to descriptive perfection as I've seen.

I identify completely.

I'm so glad you've spoken.

With serious regards to you both.

Paul.

Such a difficult situation at the best of times but in these times, I can't even imagine what you are all going through. Thoughts with all of you.

Stay strong (y):coffee:;)

Cheers Keith.

It's an astute observation Mate. A complex situation compounded by further complexities.

I can get in Christies, I've done that by erm, "negotiation" , but the chemo suite is a no go. Audrey will have to do that solo, with me around and about the hospital and it's grounds, should anything need my particular "skill set".

We're taking it one hurdle at a time.

Easy does it Bruvver.
