• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I hope someone here can help me. I'm trying to find/obtain tabs for an older Grand Funk Railroad song called The Railroad. It was recorded on their 1975 Caught Live album. I can't for the life of me identify the chords in this song.

Anyone know it?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but these are the chord changes from the studio cut...

Intro = Am -- Bm-- C--C-----

E-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------------------------0----------------
G-----------2---------------0--------------0-------------0-----0-------------
D-------2------2-------4------4-------5-------5------4----------------------
A---0--------------2--------------3----------------2-------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------------------------0-3(b)4--

The last notes on the bass E (3(b)4) are a bend G to G# then the progression starts over.

Hope it helps!

:)

Ah! Thank you! A ray of hope in what is turning out to be a fairly miserable weekend. Thank you very much!

Hey, MadStork, if you still need some guidance, send me an email and I'll dig out my copy of the record and work it out for you.

. . . and if all else fails, I'm sure all of us on Forum won't minding breaking out in a rousing chorus of "I've Been Working On The . . . " --- on second thought, scratch that.

Off the sunject, but I used to love GFR. Saw them in '72, they introduced the "E Pluribus Funk" album that night.

I've loved them since I bought their Live Album in Nov '70. Didn't know who they were, but I liked the cover. When I heard that album - well, I was hooked.

They aren't the same any longer, though. They're still good, but lack Farner's charisma and energy. Farner's still a wild man on stage, though.
