• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Do any of you guys have any experience with Fender's Music Master Bass amp? These babys are dirt cheap right now on ebay (like $300) All tube vintage point-to-point 12w amp with a 12" speaker for this good a deal? What am I missing, are they crap? This seems too good to be true.

Any experience with these? These look like even if they suck stock, could be easily made into something very much killer!

Low gain, interstage transformer. Not very exciting amps. Sort of like the "60's Gibson" of Fender amps. Mod bait, essentially. To get anything really cool going with them, you need to start cutting metal.

The coolest thing about them is that the BF/SF Champ chassis is the same size. So you can put your Champ chassis in a 1x12 cabinet.

They are a neat platform to mod from. If you don't do the work yourself, it'll be VERY costly to get a great sounding amp made from one though.

I had one for a while and it was very cute ...Mine had the 6aq5a output tubes which isn't a real common tube. The later models had 6V6. It breaks up a little different than a champ with its 12" speaker , a bit more flabby .
