• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

this '62 Super-400 came to me with a set of Grovers which work just fine but the posts are quite a bit higher than the ones i've seen before so the break-angle of the strings at the nut is very shallow - question : are there different versions of these tuners out there, for different thicknesses in headstocks ?
if anyone has a set of Kluson Sealfast Tuners lying around then please let me know, thanks !
it looks like this :

They do look a bit on the tall side. Then again, that's a very thin headstock from the look of it.

the headstock on this one is not thinner than any other on the Gibson archtops i've seen - i also don't remember any much thicker ones on the Gretsch guitars i handled .... must really be an extra high shaft, for whatever reason .....

i saw those but since they are quite a bit older than my guitar they are not interesting - not to mention the price tag ....
:wow

Schaller still makes these and they are absolutely affordable - the Imperials will be swapped out shortly, problem solved.
