• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Anyone have one of these guitars? I've been checking out various You Tube video's and like what I hear. Thanks.

Can't speak to reissues, but I had an original for years. It was a great sounding and playing guitar...but the neck was just too narrow for me to ever feel quite at home on it. Also the original wiring/tone circuit was awful (very low value pots IIRC). I replaced it with standard 500K pots and tone caps and that made a big improvement.

Here are a couple videos I did with it years ago:

I've got a 63-64 but it's totally reworked so I can't give you a stock perspective. It's got PAT#s in it, ABR, new (old) pots and Grovers. They all date from early 70's. Sounds great but just a tad neck heavy as the kick stand was removed.

Leon!! I love it!! I tip my hat to you sir. Great playing and great tone! Thank you so much. As said, I've been checking out a lot of You Tube clips with this guitar and in my VERY humble opinion (just going by the sound) I think it's a very underrated guitar. You said the neck on yours is narrow but with the newer ones some have said the neck has some real girth to it. Others have said the pickups are very unique sounding. According to Guild, both pickups use Alnico 2 magnets and they are a low wind. Bridge is 7.00K and the neck is 7.10K.

I will defiantly be checking one of these out, hopefully by fall. Thanks again!
