Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Does anyone know of a guitar stand for a explorer or flying v thats made out of metal. I have a string swing currently and I'm not a fan of it. I'm looking for one that holds a single guitar
Ime, the only stands that work for those guitars would be a Hamilton KB38B or one of the stands that take their cue from that stand, which is the original ‘hanging’ stand. The Hamilton is the only stand I use for any guitar. It will also hold a cello!! I have been using them for over two decades. You have to walk over them to knock a guitar, bass, or cellos to the ground.
The Explorer is a bit trickier, but the Hamilton will hold it,too. Flying V…no problem.
Fender makes a great hanging stand for any shape guitar, I have two of them and they are really good. Very solid construction, and the stand neck is extendable to comfortably even keep a long scale bass off the floor. Instead of the bottom double prong like most metal floor stands, the yoke supports the guitar weight and the two front tripod legs are foam covered so the guitar body can rest against them, so unique guitar body shapes work as well as traditional shapes. I got mine through Guitar Center. A little pricey, but occasionally they offer a 2 for 1 Pick of the Day, that’s how I got mine.
Here is why I like the Hamilton. It hangs the guitar from the headstock while leaning it back. I repair guitars, and Inhave repaired more than one broken neck on guitars that have fallen face first out of stands like the Fender above…or any of stand shown in the previous posts……a guitar will not fall out of this stand.
The width of the legs at the bottom is adjustable, as well.
