Roll Tide, Big AlI don't get it. They're just flippin' guitars and now it's just a freakin' fashon parade of stuff some shallow posers don't think look as cool as they should when voguing in the mirror. Makes me sick to my stomach.
Personally I don't care for the large headstock - it seems to throw of the balance, aesthetically. And the 3-bolt neck joint isn't as stable as the 4.A lot of my friends dislike the CBS era Fender guitars, but I don't know why.
Not disagreeing there.Only ones I particularly dislike are the "replicas" that put the Gibson name on the headstock, as that is illegal.
4 bolt Strats lasted until somewhere in '71.Personally I don't care for the large headstock - it seems to throw of the balance, aesthetically. And the 3-bolt neck joint isn't as stable as the 4.
The early ones before they made those changes are fine - 66 and 67, I thnk - they changed for 68, IIRC.
And the worst is in 83 when they went to the 2-knob layout.
You could be right - I used to know that stuff offhand, but haven't needed it in a while.4 bolt Strats lasted until somewhere in '71.
The big change in '68 was the lacquer change from nitro to poly.
Add the Gibson corvis to the listHideous paint jobs excluded, my least favorites:
1. Jackson Randy Rhoads models played by anyone other than Randy Rhoads.
2. A pointed headstock on a Strat body.
3. PRS (all of them)
4. Gibson Reverse V
5. That curly horn guitar that Prince played.
6. Mosrite (Sugarfoot gets a pass)
7. Hamer "paddle" headstock
8. Small headstock Dean
9. BC Rich
10. Gibson Moderne
That thing is my most hated guitar ever !!!!!Hmmm... when I was 16 I saw Dave Edmunds play one of these babies on MTV and I kinda threw up in my mouth a little...
That takes out alot of EVH wolfgang and Prs and a few jacksons and ESP lol.......and lets add anything pink to the listAny thing blue or green
I don’t know. Flea plays a Shell Pink Fender Jazz Bass. It looks good. That takes out alot of EVH wolfgang and Prs and a few jacksons and ESP lol.......and lets add anything pink to the list
If anyone can get away with a pink bass, it's Flea.I don’t know. Flea plays a Shell Pink Fender Jazz Bass. It looks good.
Actually, me thinks it's kinda coolJust saw this in the other LP forum. Suffice to say I'll be skipping lunch now.
