• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Happy Belated Burstday...UPDATED WITH DETAILED PICS!!!!!

A while back, I was fortunate enough to pick up my very first vintage ‘burst, after having been into Historics for several years. I figured it was just a matter of time before I took the plunge, and when this beat up ole’ thang came along, I just couldn’t resist. This ’59 ‘burst was formerly owned by a couple of fellow forum members, and is an amazing player. And while not up to my typical standards from a flame standpoint, for a plaintop it’s got a lot of cool stuff going on. Besides, I could never afford a vintage ‘burst that meets my flame standards anyway!! LOL

The guitar has definitely seen lots of miles and playing time, and is far from mint. It’s never had any breaks, but did have a very tasteful neck shave done at one time (with some finish touchups), along with a refret. Most of the finish is still original, as is almost all of the hardware and plastic. Anyway, I’ll now let the photos do some of the “talking” for a bit.

And here's a photo showing how much "love" this thing has received over the years, so you get a more balanced view of the condition of the guitar:

The guitar came with a nice 4 latch case, but I've since replaced that with a correct 5 latch:

Welcome to the plaintop club! And hey, when you're playin' it, you can't see the figure anyway- it's all about TONE!

Great Burst!:wow Honestly, flame would not be high on my list of things to look for in a Burst. I'm a top carve and faded/greening slut.

Hoochie Mama!!! Nice addition to the collection! :salude You've got some really nice Historics, but I've got a feeling that they all just shifted down a rung or two on the ladder.

I have photos of that guitar sporting a pair of zebras. Have they been swapped out or just covered?
