From what I recall, the early albums (Dreamboat Annie, Magazine, Little Queen, Dog and Butterfly) were mostly on Music Man amps. By the time the Wilsons had parted ways with the Fishers, they used Marshall 100-watt amps on Bebe Le Strange, Passionworks, Bad Animals etc. By the time Brigade came out, they switched to Soldano amps and Mesa Boogie amps.
Steve Fossen played an Alembic bass on Barracuda through a Sixties Fender Bassman and a Fender Showman amp. Despite playing a Gibson Thunderbird bass in the video, he mostly uses Ampeg amps these days.
Both Nancy Wilson and Roger Fisher used MusicMan amps in the studio for BARRACUDA. And Howard Leese played a Telecaster through a Fifties Fender Bassman amp on Barracuda.
There are some clips from the California Jam 2 concert in 1978 that show the members with their MM amps.
I'm pretty sure that Howard and Roger Fisher still own MusicMan amps, but I know that Nancy lost her Music Man amps in her divorce from Cameron Crowe in 2010. The guitar solo on Magic Man was played backwards by Howard Leese, on a Les Paul and Roger Fisher played a Les Paul too. His was horribly modified with some Alembic pickups, but other sources say he used a Strat on that song. His Music Man amp shortened out, which explains why on songs like Sing Child and Magic Man, his guitar sounds distorted. Leese also played a Gibson Firebird and ES 335 as well as guitar synths, and Nancy also played a Strat. She moved on to the Les Pauls, Ovation and Martin acoustics, PRS Guitars, Gibson Flying V, Epiphones, SGs and Teles later on.
But if anyone has any information on the Music Man amps, I would like to know what happened to them. I also know that a Music Man flanger and phase shifter was used on their early albums.
