• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

2004 R9 - about as good as a Historic gets, IMHO:

That's one of the nicest makeovers ever!!!!

Id pay for that way before a new sig. guitar.

Great job on that DJ and Mark!

The picture in the OP actually only got a tepid "Yeah, s'okay" from me. Not my favorite flame-wise or anything.

Then I saw the bigger pics on Mark's site and DAMN!

I mean, DAMN!

The color, the board, the wear, the vibe...

:wow

I saw it in person, along with the other two that Dave did, they are fantastic in every way.

VERY tempting. If I was looking for the ultimate new/old Les Paul, I'd pony up. I'm sure it plays/sounds killer but gotta wonder if something like this will retain it's value over the years.
BTW a lotta hype has been made of certain years as being great (e.g. 2007) but my two favorite historics came from 2004.

So did I and you are right. I've extensively played one of them as well and it is one the nicest LPs I've ever played.

+1 on that. The only one that I think tops that one was a Darkburst Mark had on about a year ago... that one was stunning.
