Hi all,
I just acquired a neat little Gibson acoustic guitar in a trade.
At first, I had no interest in keeping it. I was going to pop it on eBay and move it. However, after playinbg this "rough looking" little guitar, I'm impressed! Beautiful deep tone, nice neck!
Anyhow, here are the details,, I'd really like to know what model it is and what year it was made if anyone can help. I would greatly appreciate it!
It is a small steel-string acoustic, dark wood all over (top, sides and back (mahogany?)) with a tortise pickguard AND body binding. Black-face headstock with gold "Gibson" decal. Has the "strip-type" tuners with white plastic buttons. Pearl dot fret markers, rosewood fretboard. I'd estimate that it was made in the 60's or 70's. Not a top-of-the-line model obviously, but man what tone! I'm going to fix it up and use it to record with alongside my Taylor.
Serial number on back of headstock is: 314xxx
Thanks in advance for any help IDing this guitar!!!
