• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I do have this very strange les Paul, obviously it is no Gibson. It really seems old, but what is it?
- It really has 23 frets!
- serial Nr.: 8 6007 impressed
- Originally there were 2 p90s installed, but in the bridge the pickup hole was made bigger for a humbucker.
- The toggle switch is where the potis are like some SGs
- the bridge is about 1cm closer to the bridge pu than usual.

Can anybody tell what guitar this is?
Also I would like to know if the body is made of Mahagoni. The wood looks a bit bright to me...

Yeah, like others here, I don't know what it is, but I sure know what it isn't - and it ain't a Gibson.
Way too many things wrong with it.
It could be an early Chibson - Chinese made copy - done by memory having seen a real Les Paul several years before.
It's not a |US built guitar for sure -
But ya know, if it plays good and sounds good, and you got it for a good price (like, well under $200) play it and be happy.

Can you tell me anything about the wood of the body? From its structure the neck looks like Mahagoni, but the mechanic holes are very light. Also the dents in the electric case, where you can see the blank wood, seem to be too bright for Mahagoni... What kind of wood could it be?
