• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Are the 2001s shipping and are they coming in aged?? Are they even being made??

I ran into a "2001" this weekend and I was extremely suspicious of the authenticity if the seller..

serial number was A 911XX

Thanks

I'm a big fan of the 335/45/55 line but I haven't heard of any aged models. That doesn't mean it isn't being done, just that I haven't seen any advertised that way.

As far as 2001's being shipped, I bought a flamey '01 ES-355 (GOD, what a winner!) in April. According to the dealer it was a special Custom Shop mini-run of about 8 or 10 since they don't officially make 355's anymore, so take this reply for whatever it's worth (not much).

335s

Two dealers this week (one was Dave Rogers) told me that they are not yet being made again. Thats wierd Dave, the serial # should mean '01, but how could it be? -Ed A

I spoke with Gibson last night (Customer Service) (Very helpful BTW..) and he has no record of any '01 335 Historics out there.
He said it possiblly could be a one off, but he couldn't find it in the database..

Well anyway.. I guess the dealer was full of it.. (Big Surprise there..)

Gibson customer service was helpful? The Devil must be feeling a bit of a chill right about now. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm on the look-out for those Four Horsemen...

Check out Wildwood Guitars out in Colorado. They have some truly luscious '59 and '63 335 Historic Reissues. And their Les Paul collection aint bad either!

Agree about Wildwood...

I live close to Wildwood. I'll drive up occasionally just to look at the inventory. Steve has an uncanny knack for getting the most beautiful Les Pauls I've seen anywhere! He must get first crack at 'em or something.

I know this is a Les Paul board, but he also has some stunning PRSs (there, I said it - the 'P' word). Even if you look at PRSs as coffee tables (I don't), you could have the most bitchin' living room ever out of his inventory. :D
