Our fellow member GuitarG lives in Foley, Alabama which is only a few miles off of the coast just north of Gulf Shores where hurricane Ivan hit head on. From the pictures I've seen many homes and condo's have been devistated. GuitarG, I hope you and your family made it through ok!!

I hope George is OK. I dropped him a line quite a while back when I saw where he was from because my grandparents (Michigan snowbirds) wintered in Elberta and ran an antique shop in Foley. Small world. I was watching the national news and they kept saying Ivan was heading between Mobile and Pensacola and I'm thinking...WOW I've been there, thats right where G'pa & G'ma used to live. Beautiful country. I was surprised when I first went there. I'm from landlocked, agricultural, rural central Michigan and assumed all gulf coast shoreline would be urban,condoed, pavement but Elberta was (is?) a quiet,spacious,pecan-orcharded(sp?!) patch of Eden. My heart goes out to those current residents. I truly pray all is well for them.
