• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hoping for a little help in identifying my 1993 Les Paul

So this has been my guitar for the better part of 20 years but I haven't really played it like I would have wanted to. I looked up the serial number on the back (i'll edit my post to include it when I get back home later) and found it was made in October of 1993, but I don't know whether its studio, or classic or what it is. Plus, I searched the internet pretty hard and I haven't been able to find a finish like mine. I'm really just trying to figure out valuation as I'll be forced to sell it soon. :( any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does it have a black back? It looks like it may be a Studio Lite. Here’s one that was on Reverb, now gone:

Yes. Studio Lite. 496r/500t buckers, Schaller/Germany made black bridge/tailpiece/tuners(with little keys), ebony board. They hollow out part of the center of the body and insert balsa wood (they called it chromyte) to reduce weight.

Appreciate the replies guys. It definitely appears that it is indeed a studio lite. Welp, off to craigslist or ebay I go. I wish I could hang onto it as it's in absolutely mint condition cause its been sitting at my dad's house for the last 20 years untouched, but deserves to be played
